We are so blessed to able to visit with the NICU staff who cared for our once preemies. They all have a special place in our heart and are forever grateful for everything they did for our children. This is one of the reasons it is so important to our family to attend the annual NICU reunion.
We always have a great time visiting with many of the staff that we consider to be part of our extended family. This year we even met up with a family that I was in contact with while she was on bed rest at KU with her triplets. We found each other through Triplets Plus of Kansas City. It was great to meet her and her family in person. She has some adorable baby girls! We also had another NICU mommy approach us and explain to us how every time she searched for news about the reunion online she found our blog. She then talked about how she loved reading about our family and our adventures. I am always honored to meet someone our story has touched!
This years theme for the reunion was a luau. The NICU graduates always have the red carpet laid out for them. They receive goodie bags with all kinds of fun stuff. There was also a face painter, balloon artist, photo booth, a bounce house and tons of food!
They kids had so much fun and I can tell how each year they truly get more out of each of the activities.
I was thrilled to get this next photo…even if the kids were being shy! Matthew is behind Zachary.
We had a great time as usual and are already looking forward to next years.
