Birthday Celebrating at Home (I know it is a little over due)

I just realized I never posted about how we celebrated the kids birthday at home!  So a whole month an a half later I guess I better do it before I forget again!

We of course started our day with our traditional birthday pancakes.  They loved the fact I used candles in their pancakes this year.

Happy Birthday Zachary!

Happy Birthday Zachary!

They found sleeping bags from us waiting for them after breakfast and were finally able to open the gift that came from Uncle Keith, Aunt Julie, Brianna, and Carter.  It was fun to listen to them ripe into the big box.  There was great debate all week what was in the box.  I loved listening to why they thought it was not a sandbox or a tree house.  They also ruled out Barbies and cars because it was a big box and light weight.

Once it was opened we had to head off to school.  They took special treats to share with their friends.  Elizabeth took string cheese, Cameron took drinks, Matthew took chocolate, and Zachary took Grahamfuls.  It was important to us that they each felt like they took something for their birthday.  So they each picked out what they wanted to take to share.

The kids chose to go to Taco Bueno for dinner and of course we had cupcakes back at the house.  They spent the rest of the night playing in their play tent.

It was a great day!
