The kids love helping whenever and wherever they can. So we try to let them help whenever possible. Some of their favorite ways to help are cooking, cleaning (not their toys), and bringing groceries in from the van. When it comes to their rooms and their toys it can be a different story. I am sure any parent can relate to that.
The last time we went to the store we were out of a lot and preparing to be snowed in for the second time. So we bought quite a bit. We made an assembly line to haul all the groceries into the house. Randy handed the kids the bags. The kids carried it all up the stairs to the kitchen and I put it all away. They were asking to help bring it in before we were even pulled into the garage. So it was a great way to let them help and still get it done.
It was a lot of fun to hear the conversations they had while helping. They loved talking about their muscles. They talked about it taking a lot of strong muscles to carry the heavy items. They were very proud they could help us out by bringing everything in the house.
