Snowmageddon 2013 Take 2

After last weeks snow storm aka snowmageddon 2013 that dumped a foot of snow in less than 24 hours we were not ready for more.  But winter storm Rocky (yes, they are naming winter storms now) had other plans.  I was already off 2 days last week from the first round of snow and with this second round I have been off another two days.

We already have almost another foot of snow and it continues to snow off and on all day today.    It came in Monday night and we lost power at 4 am and it was restored thankfully at 4 pm.  We were about to look into a hotel room, just like the last big power outage we had 2 summers ago.  Randy was shoveling the new snow so we could get out and the power kicked back on just before he was done.  The kids were in the middle of their nap (in the living room) and it startled them and woke them up.  We spent the whole day in the living room with tons of blankets and several layers on just trying to stay warm.  The kids stayed entertained with coloring, toys, reading, and playing superheros.  The got a kick out of going potty by candle light.  I wanted to take the kids out but I feared that was not the best idea since we could not come in and warm up.

Once the power kicked back on we did mange to go out for a bit and the new fallen snow was much wetter than the previous snow…great for snowballs and snowmen!

Elizabeth and Cameron made it to the top.

How do I get down?

We were able to build a decent size snowman.  They actually helped instead of knocking it down, like they have done in the past.

Here are a few more shots I took of the kiddos.mccleary_quads_snowmageddon21

The kids help daddy make dinner and we all cuddled up to watch a movie before bed.  I truly love my extra time home with me kiddos!

I can’t imagine being without power that long with little one. Glad you found a way to stay warm.

I am glad your power outage did not last longer. That is a challenge to be without power, especially when it is so cold! I love all the snow pictures. The snowman is big! What fun : 0 ).
