Eskina Family Christmas Party 2012

We of course attended this annual function with my mom’s side of the family.  This year was interesting to see how the kids interacted with all the relatives.  This function includes my great aunts and all their families.  So the kids not only saw my mom, Grandma Betty, my aunts and cousins, that they normally see but many family members I do not even know.  They were pretty shy around most of the adults except for those who they are familiar with from other outings.  They had no problem getting in there with the other children.  Elizabeth and my cousin daughter Aubrey tend to play together more and more every time the see each other.  Aubrey was born about 2 weeks before our quad squad so they obviously are very close in age.  It is nice to see them play and getting along so well.

Everyone except Cameron sat on Santa’s lap.  I had to go with him and we stood next to Santa.  Santa had a gift for each of them.  Elizabeth received a Cinderella doll.  Cameron was thrilled to find out Santa brought a Batman toy.  Matthew loved his Spiderman car and Zachary thought is Superman and Super dog were pretty cool.  (The boys have all of the sudden really gotten into Superheros.)

During the get together there is always an auction on wrapped gifts to raise money to help host it the next year.  The kids participated in the kids auction…which is everything is a dollar and the first one up to the front gets the gift.  Matthew got a bouncy light up ball, Zachary bought a spinning light toy, Cameron bought a puzzle, and Elizabeth gift had a vest in it and we do not think it was a kids gift.  So my Aunt Joan traded her for a box of Dots.  That of course made everything better.

It was a great day and we were all tired by the time we came home.
